The Joy of
GiftGiving
Our Story
giftgiving.ch began with a quiet frustration.
A meaningful gift should feel personal. Considered. Lasting. Yet most presents feel rushed, generic, and easily forgotten. I wanted something different. Something created with intention. Something I would be proud to give.
Candles came first.
My work as a nurse and theatre nurse is structured, precise, and deeply focused on people. Creating with my hands became the counterbalance. In the evenings and on quiet weekends, wax began to melt, molds began to form, and what started as curiosity slowly became a craft.
I began with paraffin. It never felt right. The texture, the process, the result. I explored alternatives, but many so-called ecological waxes rely on palm oil or heavy industrial processing. Beeswax stood apart. Natural, complete, and honest in its form. It needs nothing added. No blends. No fillers. Only wax, heat, patience, and time.
Today, every candle at giftgiving.ch is made from 100% beeswax. Nothing added. Nothing diluted.
Each figurine is poured, refined, and finished by hand, one at a time. They are not mass-produced objects. They are small sculptures that happen to be candles. Some playful. Some minimal. Some created for a specific moment. All made slowly, with care and attention.
Beeswax asks for patience. It cannot be rushed. It moves at its own pace and demands precision at every step. Because of this, creation takes time. I choose not to accelerate what should remain careful. No order leaves the workshop unless it meets my standards fully. This may mean a slightly longer wait, but it ensures that what arrives in your hands is exactly as it should be.
Then came 3D printing.
Designing functional objects felt like a natural continuation of working with wax. The same mindset applies. Observe. Refine. Test. Improve. Thoughtful design should solve real problems and quietly elevate everyday routines.
Some client projects remain confidential, but their impact is clear. One client needed a precise tool for preparing coffee grounds within his workflow. Together, we developed a solution tailored exactly to his routine. A small, exact object. Seeing it become part of his daily process was as satisfying as completing a candle.
Some designs are printed directly for clients. Others are offered as digital files for those who own a 3D printer and prefer to produce the object themselves. Through this, giftgiving.ch extends far beyond Switzerland. Even those without time to learn design can bring an idea forward. A need, a sketch, a concept. I develop it into a finished, functional piece.
giftgiving.ch is a one-person workshop based in Switzerland.
Everything is designed and produced in small batches at home, with a clear focus on quality over quantity. Materials are chosen with care. Designs evolve slowly. The intention remains unchanged.
Premium. Personal. Ecological.
Limited editions rather than mass production. Objects created to be given, kept, and remembered.
Physical products are currently available in Switzerland and Germany.
Digital 3D files are available internationally.
giftgiving.ch exists for people who want their presents to feel considered.
For parents. For companies selecting meaningful gifts. For anyone who values thoughtfulness over convenience. For those who believe a gift should carry a story before it is even opened.
And sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are not given to others.
giftgiving.ch is also for the quiet decision to choose something special for oneself. A small object that brings joy, marks a moment, or simply deserves a place in daily life. Not every piece needs an occasion. Sometimes, it becomes the occasion itself.
